In Seville, Spain, a delegation from Dalat University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tat Thang, Vice-Rector, participated in the kick-off workshop of the HARVEST Project (Higher Education Leadership on Agriculture and Food Rights for Environmental Sustainability). The workshop was held at the University of Seville as part of the Erasmus+ program.

The HARVEST Project, with a total budget of 800,000 Euros and a duration of 36 months (starting December 2024), aims to strengthen leadership capacity in sustainable agriculture and food systems in Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

During the workshop, Dalat University representatives discussed the role of higher education in advancing ecological agriculture, food security, and climate change adaptation. They also explored connections with global initiatives, such as the European Green Deal, the “Farm to Fork” Strategy, and the 2030 Agenda.

Dr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, the project coordinator, stated: “HARVEST will enable Dalat University to enhance the quality of its training programs, expand its international cooperation network, and contribute to sustainable development in Southeast Asia.”

The project is expected to deliver significant benefits to the University, including the development of new training programs, strengthened scientific research, and increased appeal to international students. The project’s outcomes will be widely shared to replicate the model and propose relevant policies.

Through this initiative, Dalat University reinforces its role in global educational collaboration, contributing to the advancement of sustainable agriculture and climate-resilient food systems.
